Blue Mist Farm is a small farm located in Enumclaw, WA. We started out with 3 alpaca's just so I could listen to them hum. The peace and serenity that came everyday being with those 3 boys has grown into a combination of over 90 sheep, goats and alpaca. Each one has their own personality and I can sit for hours in the field watching the them all interact with each other and me. Each one has been named and I know and love them all.
Bessie is the sheep pictured here, she is very lovely and will take butt scratches all day long.
We started with animals that needed to be re-homed or were true rescues, but we now have a beautiful collection of fiber animals from all over. Having always been a crafty person, being able to grow, shear and process my own fleeces into roving and yarn has been a true pleasure. Learning to dye and spin have provided hours of fun. Seeing the wool and fiber from my sheep, goats and alpaca go to an end product that I can wear is thrilling.
Belle is one of our rescue goats. She doesn't produce any fiber but she is very spirited and loves to play.
Our main focus is to love all of our animals and give them a good life. In return they give beautiful fleeces to me to use and to share with the world. We do breed our sheep and work on getting friendly sheep with soft fleeces. I have a large flock of everyone who follow me around the farm, making it hard to get chores done because they are always there to help (get attention).
This is Flo, our 19 year old alpaca rescue. She is very sweet and gets confused about where the gates are. The gates haven't moved but she can never seem to find them.
